| SQL Server DBA. Our client wishes to employ a SQL Server DBA to support growth through enhancement of existing systems and new product integration. Candidates should have experience of working in a high volume / transaction environment (ideally large e-commerce or media sites) and a solid understanding of data modelling and ETL. You will need a clear understanding of SQL Server 2005 and 2008 (minimum 5 years SQL Server) and experience with the following:
T-SQL, Complex Stored Procedures, Data Import / Export, Data Transformation Services (DTS), Full-Text Search (FTS), Integration Services (SSIS). We would like candidates to have MCP or MCTS certification (MCDBA or OCP would be an advantage, but is not essential).
Additionally, any experience of Oracle 9i / 10g / 11g would be an advantage, as would a background including Financial Markets / Derivatives. The Role:
You will contribute to, or lead, the design of database schemas for development of online applications (including production of documentation). You will develop applications to integrate data from multiple internal and 3rd party sources, and develop in-house backend systems to work alongside existing back office systems. You will also be involved in maintenance activities (upgrades to existing systems, enhancing the performance of legacy systems). Although standard office hours are typically worked, some flexibility will be required and we may require candidates to travel to Gibraltar on occasion. |
